The Red Tractor Scheme
We all want good quality food that’s affordable, traceable and safe to eat. And we want to know it’s produced as ethically and sustainably as possible. The Red Tractor is an independent mark of quality. It guarantees the ingredients we buy come from British farms that also meet Red Tractor standards for safety and hygiene, ensuring everything we bake is fully traceable from field to table.

Sometimes you need to know the nitty-gritty. That’s why we’ve created detailed product specification sheets for each of our gorgeous breads. In handy .pdf format, they’re packed with useful information including details about preparation, packaging, product life, defrost recommendations and quality control standards. Fabulous Marriage’s flour
Everything we produce is Red Tractor certified from start to finish, field to plate, including our core ingredient, Marriage’s flour. The Marriage family have farmed the glorious Essex countryside since the 1600s. They’ve been milling in the area since 1824. Their wonderful award winning British flours are the heart and soul of our artisan breads.
Marriage’s makes beautiful white, brown, wholemeal, rye, spelt and barley flours, all milled the traditional way on French Burr stones. If you’d like to find out more, here’s a link to their website: Marriage’s the Master Millers.

Our specialist team keeps their finger on the bread market’s pulse, taking note of the latest trends and tastes, working closely with our suppliers to create new, innovative and profitable products. We even review our existing range regularly to make sure it remains the best possible quality, brings the latest technologies into play and meets our customers’ needs perfectly.

Reducing the amount of water we use
Part of the government’s Food Industry Sustainability Strategy, the Federation House Commitment is jointly managed by the Food and Drink Federation, Dairy UK and the resource efficiency experts WRAP. Together they are determined to reduce water usage across the entire food and drink sector an impressive 20% by 2020.
We’ve signed up, which means we are committed to these five actions designed to help us reduce the amount of water we use and meet the FHC’s targets:
- Develop a water use baseline
- Assess water use at our manufacturing site
- Develop site-specific action plans to cut our usage
- Implement the actions we’ve identified
- Report our annual water use and production data
