Single Hero Breakfast Bread


1 White cottage loaf roll
Knob of butter, melted
2 Thin slices smoked ham
15g Gruyere cheese, grated
1 Medium egg

To serve:
5 Steamed asparagus spears


Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas mark 6.

Remove the top from the white cottage roll and set to one side. Press an indent into the centre of the roll. Lightly butter and lay in a few slices of ham and grated Gruyere cheese. Crack in an egg and season well. Drizzle over a little more butter. Bake in the oven for 6–7 minutes or until just set.

Serve with reserved top and steamed asparagus tips as soldiers for dipping.
